Nice! So you bought it as-is? Looks like someone did a lot of restoration. Awesome car.

I think it was restored in the 1990s and then well taken care of. It used to be bronze with a tan interior. I do know that much but not much more.

If you want to shoot me your door data tag info, I'd be happy to let you know all about how the car came from the factory. 8)

Very nice man. My step dad just finished building an early 289 for his 66 coupe. It was an all original straight 6 auto.

Went out last weekend, washed the car and took some typical "industrial backdrop" pics people seem to be fond of.

A few more. No real news to report. I was going to build a 331 or 347 stroker, and I still might, but I have a rebuilt 289 in my garage, aluminum heads, solid cam, intake, carb, headers, etc. to have a pretty nice 289, I might drop that in for the time being.

I love when people say, "your car will be awesome when you get sweet rims for it." And I say, "I HAVE SWEET WHEELS!" And they look at me like I am eating a fetus.

I was just going to comment on how nice the black steelies look on it. I think the 28" pimp my sister chrome wheels look pretty bad on an otherwise stock looking ride. No one will be worried about your wheels when you blow past them with your built 289 ;D

Yep, alloys would look wrong on that car for sure, so would period hubcaps. someyhing just looks right about the black steel wheels with good rubber on them. Nice car. I'd drive it.

Haven't been around for awhile, thanks for the comments!

I have a 306 being built for me right now. It's going to be about 10.5:1 compression, aluminum heads, roller cam, etc. I picked all the parts but I am having someone else assemble the shortblock. All indications is that it would be about a 375-400hp (at the crank) engine at sea level. No idea what it will be up in Denver but it should be a vast improvement over the "200hp" 289 that's in it now. Also have a TCI C4 transmission and 2500 stall converter that should be an improvement in and of itself.
