RUST????

Well guys i just found 2 bikes that im looking to pick up this weekend?

The one is a cb 550 with all the parts to build a bike. its just in pieces so i need to put it together.

Now the second one is a cb 360 that is in rough shape. It has surface rust on all the chrome.

Should i be worried about the surface rust if im going to try to restore it or will the rust be a major problem?

Im trying to build the 360 info a cafe by the spring time so im not sure if the rust will hold me back.

Surface rust is just that - surface - and will not impact performance. Do what most people do - hit it with hi-temp flat black paint

With some rust-remover, #0000 steel wool and elbow grease, you can do amazing things with rusty chrome, but sometimes its just too far gone. Lets see some pics!
