Tire mounting tips?

Been Around the Block
Hey all, I'm about to try putting on some new K70s on my '78 XS500. I've got some spoons and rim protectors and am planning on getting baby powder to keep the tubes from getting all jacked up. Any other tips come to mind?

Wow.....getting tyres on without levers. Never done or seen that before, normally a massive struggle with loads of swearing.
Impressive.
 
there are lots of good videos on youtube for changing tires. I always use the longest spoons possible to get more leverage. they have 19" spoons
 
actually if you do it right tire mounting/dismounting is very easy,and a quick process, no zip ties needed :)
it is all about getting the bead fully in the drop center when going on or off with a tar and a small amount of lube to help the process
and with those wide bullet bike rims you can mount a tar with no zip ties or spoons it is just a fucking waste of zip ties
 
I'm pretty good at changing tires, but I'm equally good at pinching tubes. I usually fuck at least one up before paying someone to do it.
