to wrap or not to wrap (headers)? That is the question.

I like the look, but I've read things about water getting trapped inside and rusting the pipes. Right now my headers are black but getting a little surface rust. I figure it's gonna be ~$50 to wrap them or $100 to get them ceramic coated. I like them black just as much as I like them wrapped, so aesthetics aren't an influence on my decision. I have header paint but that's what is on there now and I don't feel like doing it every couple years.

I have wrapped my RD headers since the chrome was completely dooked up.imo the wrapping brings no advantage besides not burning your legs when you touch the exhaust accidentally.
I would rather spend the extra cash ceramic.
I'm getting expansion chambers on my RD so i went this way☺

just ride the goddam thing you really worried about a lil rust on the pipes ;D

If you care about the pipes then ceramic if not then wrap

Header paint then wrap.


If you're using black wrap, then header paint before AND after you wrap them (the black wrap will fade in no time).


By the time you've done all this you've probably spent the $100 you would have getting them ceramic coated ;D
