she's almost done cosmtically!

Just gotta find a vinyl shop nearby and have them do some old school honda logos for the tank and for the side covers!

Put on a 15" Emgo universal muffler. Sounds great IMO

Re: 1968 Honda CB450 - "Bangarang" (NEW PICTURES... TOW TO "SPECIAL" THREAD?)

So, I got my front brake cable from DCC and ran into a problem!

When ordering, I forgot to take into account the aftermarket fork tubes that the original owner installed. The aftermarket "chopper" tubes made the cable too short, as the distance from the brake unit to the handle bar longer. This explains why the OEM brake cable simply snapped at the handle.

I'm going to drop the fork tubes through triple to lower it a bit (after I do the fork seals) and hopefully its all the remedy I need.

Going to order the seals today and hope they are in by next week when I receive my legal papers from Moto Recycle.

Also, I started taking apart the front end and painting parts, will post pictures soon!

Just saw your thread, as the owner of the 3 450's, 2 of which are '68's...I approve!

I would have paid $300 just for those pipes!

Ok, finally going full cafe.

After spending some time with the bike, I still can't seem to get rid of the "cafe" itch. The bike looked great when I bought it, but its not what I want it to be.

The main problem is that I have extended forks, so i'm planning on dropping them through the triples and mounting clip-ons to the extended portion. Any issues I will face with that?

Here is my inspiration for the seat, its mild, but I like it. I'll go with a grey cowl and black seat foam.

This is how you shorten forks internally:

But your forks are freakin long........so you might be better off finding some stock sized ones off eBay or something.

I also just started working on a cb450. I got a 73 in pretty good shape, but has been sitting for 15 years and has nothing in the left crankcase. And no starter motor. I was thinking of just going kickstart with it and wanted to know what parts you ended up keeping in there.
