Expansion Chamber for a KH100

Hi All,

A mate of mine has a pretty much stock old Kawasaki KH100 that he is 'trying' to do up. Ive heard that an expansion chamber can be a good thing on these little bikes. Now i have an expansion chamber/exhaust system off an Aprilia RS125 that i used to own sitting in the garage, would this work for him?

2 strokes rely on the exhaust to make power. Exhaust design is a function of port shape and size and required engine speed at peak power. Unless the KH and the RS125 have similar port timing etc, it's probably going to be too short or too long and will probably make teh bike peaky and unpleasant to ride.

The chances on the Aprilia exhaust being right dimensions for the KH are pretty slim, but if you have it, try it.

There are two ways to tackle this. Empirical and theoretical. If you don't have the software and all the dimensions to work out the perfect pipe, "theoretical" is not an option. So it's time for the empirical approach - try it and see what happens.
