we have a friend that says he will only work on Amal carbs by the hour. Zeke cleaned in the ultrasonic cleaner and then blew them out with carb cleaner and brushed it off with a Dremel.

Removed the fluids and the right side case. We had to remove the pegs also to remove the cover.

i have only worked on a normal bul,does these have seperate primary and gearbox ?

We are waiting on our Montadero shop manual so we found a Frontera manual. It had a procedure for finding TDC and using a vernier

you can use any dial indicator with a long skinny pekker onnit ;)
just remember setting from true tdc is important here as well

I am assuming that 2mm before TDC is piston travel before TDC??? I haven't fount the timing numbers for the Montadero yet...unless it falls under all other models http://www.bultaco.com/techtips.html

that is the actual made tool ;) but any dial indicator can be used

yes actually if you just set indicator to zero at tdc,or set it at +2mm for tdc then timing would be zero your choice whatever so confuse
