Copius Amounts - Budget cb750f

taggat

Coast to Coast
I scored a 80 cb750f with title and parts bike minus one motor.
In the same haul.... 87 cbr600 with title but snapped cam chain and a 89 cbr600 in parts.
Whats a man suppose to do when the materials magically appear in one garage for a super cheap price of 500 bucks.
Bring the F' to superbike status utilizing everything I can from the four piles of crap.
Here's to the start of winter, Ive got one hell of a project awaiting!

Ill also be parting out the spares so if anyone is interested let us help each other to fund each other.

Looking for a moderately priced 4-1 exhaust, superbike bars, +1 to +2 rear shocks, side covers in good shape "ie tabs", low profile corbin seat, nighthawk/gpz or similar bikini fairing with rectangular headlight.

And now for some eye candy. Cheers

The front end came to together quickly as I used a 86 cbr600 front end utilizing a 1982 cb900f triple tree.
The first hurdle is the rear end as I need to find a cbr600 f2 rear as the early one, f1, uses a 17mm diameter axle and the length is to short for the stock swingarm.
The f2 rim supposedly uses a 20mm diameter axle which then the stock axle could be used and maybe I can just rob a f2 for the bearings so the rims match.
Dreaming of finding a cb1000 or cb1100f boxed swingarm, because that would be nice upgrade wouldn't it.

Off to see the owner of this nighthawk fairing today as its in great shape.

Hopefully I can just trade a bunch of junk I have laying around for in-store credit and get most of what I am missing.

Rear bearings confirmed, f2 bearings fit the f1 rim.
Ill have something to do this evening. :D

Some progress!

New rear wheel bearings and I scored a cb1100f swingarm!

Pretty sure Im going to cut that seat up and take out about six or so inches.
