Bit the bullet and spent $35 on a harbor freight 6" buffer. I'm glad I did, cuz while they are not perfect, the case and outside head fins are almost like chrome now. Lots of tedious work, but the results are nice!
I know seeing that all together has to be making you almost giggle w/ glee. Really looks nice. That has been on the shelf for a long time, but it looks like the wait is going to be worth it.

Thanks guys!
Yep cory, I am getting pretty jacked. Though I must say that after the work ive put in the engine, I'm now wishing that I would have pained the frame.. maybe this winter.... then again maybe not.
I have seen a few people put kaw h1 heads on the 250's. They use either the two outside heads or two centers. After machining, there is supposedly a good increase in performance. They look a bunch better IMHO to boot.
I have been researching the optimal squish band and angles, and trying to wrap my head around all that.
Anyways a few people say these gt250s really come alive with some head work and chambers.
I guess I'm straying from stock a bit, but at this point I'm still staying away from cutting anything, so it can truly be put back to stock if need be.
Kaw H1 heads on their way from California. Much cheaper than I thought they would be. Only $55 to my door for all 3. Plus I'll have the 3rd for a kick butt paper weight, or maybe a sweet hipster lamp.
Got the battery in from eBay as well
And used some old carbs to practice polishing the bowls. Think it will look nice
I have some electrical gremlins to chase down. I think the blinker relay to a dump on me. When I turn on the signal, they just stayed on and didn't blink.
