Cb 125T Cafe Racer on a budget

Re: cb 125T cafe/brat racer budget build

Your Comstars are beautiful. I've always dug those wheels but they seem to be universally hated in the Honda circles. They are tad heavy, but rivet issues aside I think they're great.

I like the shape of your cowl; any plans for a fender? You'll want a hugger for sure to keep your engine clean.

Re: cb 125T cafe/brat racer budget build

i was looking for a cheap chrome cb125 replica fender to cut up, but they are not that cheap as i've only found any in taiwan or something like that and shipping is a pita...

Re: cb 125T cafe/brat racer budget build

and rear fender will just be a piece of aluminum or carbon fibre if i can get my hands on that

so a little progress on the seat:

That's looking really nice but why fit a rear fender?

I've taken it off (apart form the front section hidden under the bodywork) my Ace, the number plate catches the majority of the rooster tail :)

update:

welded some brackets on the frame today to mount my rear light support and cut off the end of the frame

filled up the holes with some metal welded to it and grinded it smooth

also noticed my seat wasn't sitting level on the frame, will get to that tomorrow

seat is finished!!!

finished sanding and filling untill the seat was smooth, next i made a seatpan out of sheet metal and welded 2 bolds through it. upholstery is rivetted to this seatpan and the bolds go through the fibreglass seat and bold up onto the frame. got no pics of that because i was too busy working on it...

Little problem, the tach makes a very annoying noise when i rev the bike, After a struggle with a stuck bold i changed the tach cable because i was thinking that caused the problem, but it didn't. Anyone an idea what can be the problem or had similar issues?

Hey nice!
I'm building a 125 twin too and i'm also from Belgium! :D

Where do you got your clipons from? (not easy to find in 31mm even if yours are with adapter ring's)

ebay, but i didn't put them on because i like the M-steer for now and they only costed about €25 and are stupidly light so don't want my life depending on that...

where are you from? post up some pics!

those are the clip ons, can't sell them to you because it would cost more to buy them off me incl. shipping than just buy them new. i've also seen these ones which look a bit more decent...
