CB350 Exhaust Valve

My exhaust valves are weirdly corroded looking... the seats are fine and there's no evidence of wear in the guides... just use them in spite of how weird looking they are?

Looks like a little burnt oil to me, caked on.
Might not be the valve itself corroded, or it is?? ... :-X

Need to get them on a wire wheel and see what they look like 'clean'
Could be rust pitting, with valve closed the seats are generally OK

hit them with a brass wheel yielding what the picture shows... is that possibly just more caked on crap? how hard can i go at these things? can i use a steel wire wheel?

Use a steel wire wheel, valve should be harder material than wheel, if it isn't, it needs changing
