Picked this bike up right about a year ago for $500. It ran, but quite poorly. I pretty much knew exactly how I wanted the bike before I began, and we set to work pretty quick. Hard to tell in the pics, but the black is all rattle can and a shitty job at that. The wheels however, were done right and have stainless spokes and brass nipples (Score!)

Well as my budget came and went and we ran into headache after headache (mostly carb related), things were drug out much further than I expected. All said though, it came out exactly how I wanted it. (except the imperfect set fitment)

Mod list:
-Emgo Magna Wide Bars
-black headlight ears with non-sealed 8" headlight
-lowered stock gauge mounts
-Biltwell grips
-Externally wired controls from a '79
-Modern 7/8" master cylinder with stainless lines on rebuilt stock calipers (new pads)
-Progressive fork springs
-Upgraded black shocks
-Sportster XL1200R Roadster seat
-bobbed and lowered front fender
-fork gaiters
-CB500T rear fender
-Lucas style tail lamp
-alloy mini turn signals
-Painted in 2010 Toyota 4Runner factory grey
-Stock headers with modified mid-pipes and Werks slip-on mufflers from a prototype exhaust we had
-Dyna mini coils
-wrinkle black finish on valve covers and timing belt covers
-rebuilt carbs top to bottom
-new valve stem seals and all gaskets

Still need to build a small removable sissy bar and rear pegs for two-up riding

This thing is way better than I ever hoped. I friggin love riding it...and at 160lbs I get a lot of odd looks on such a big bike :p

Here's a crappy video of Lee ripping it around the shop with it's new exhaust

Well unfortunately a small coolant drip turned into a large leak and the loos of coolant lead to overheating...and a popped headgasket. Bummer.

While handling that I'm going to deal with more of the maintenance items I didn't handle the first round, along with a carb jetting which is definitely needed. Sucks to have her down, but she'll be back better than ever once done.

if you have the head or heads off lap the valves and pit some viton valve seals in you wont regret it

i get mine bulk from this guy
