Putting FZR calipers on a RD400?

What's the deal? I've heard of it, but never any good info.
What needs to be done? My 1977 RD400 has calipers that need a lot of work and a rebuild kit, and I don't want to spend the $50/$100 on Oring kits if I can do upgraded set ups for not much more...

What year calipers do I need?
I assume it would work on both front and rear?
What's the deals on the rotor spacer and caliper mount/hanger/
Any premade parts?

Teach me, I want to do it..

Swivel is right. The rd400 spoke is really wide, and there is no room behind the caliper. I tried to get this to work for some time for the exact same reason you mentioned, and ended up rebuilding my caliper because it was way easier than trying to do something clever.

Good luck

Look at a 650 Ninja caliper. They are a 2 piston sliding caliper but modern. Not as nice as 4 piston but there is a lot of room on the back. It's the only thing I could find that I can run a spoked wheel. There are good pics here.
