Ok so, Ive been a busy beaver, recently. Working on my main hobby. My XV750 I bought for $500. It was in a garage for 5 years... sitting. NON running. Now I can say its running, and things are starting to fall in to place. Here are some pics. Before and after. Still not done. But coming along nicely. What do you think? Still need to get the rear part done. Just mocking it up now

Here are the pics.

Just found your project Uber.
I'll be watching and if I can be of assistance, will stop by.

Rob

Well, the project has slowed down quite a bit. Just got my subframe half done. Getting it tuned as we speak, Hopefully have it purring soon.

Oh got my muffler on, liking it.

Well I got my self another little something to work on in the mean time, until my Xv comes back!

Here is my next project.
Honda CB 550

I know its the typical bike, but it only has 13,500 miles on it. So Im hoping this will be a nice restore on cafe. Will be looking for some ideas.

Heres a pic of it in the mean time!

All the best in the New Year!

Question.

Does anyone know how to move the rear tire more towards the center. I dont like how its all the way to the left!

Thanks

Hey Everyone... Ive got the bike fully together, it runs! ;)

I took it for a spin down the street and back, and I found the rear brake, very week... meaning, I had to push really hard on the rear set to get it to work... Of course I will be playing with the adjuster, but im wondering if there is a trick to reinforce the pressure to make the rear brake more effective?

Any thought.

BTW... Sorry its been a long cold winter... and no posts..! My bad!

Wow... Lots done.... The bike is finished!

Here are some pics!

Thanks everyone, for all your help and advice.

My neighbour loved the build so much he bought a 81 Xv920 ;)..... He is already asking for advice.... I will see what I can do..

Pics...!

you should lower those forks internally rather than sliding them up the trees. While you have them opened up you can toss in some better springs. You can get a progressive set or RaceTech also sells some good ones. When I had my '82 Virago a couple years back rebuilding the forks with new progressive springs and lowering them internally made a huge difference in handling. Its not hard at all and you wont poke an eye out on those fork tubes sticking up in your face. :)

Thanks... But I kinda like the garage look. I know there are pros that do everything... But the better handling is some thing to think about !
