Which carbs to use?

I have a 1980 Suzuki GS750 that came with non-stock carbs from a 86-88 GSXR 750-1100 (32mm Mikuni). After speaking with the guys at gsresources they all recommend getting the stock carbs which are BS32SS because it would be hard to tune in the non-stock carbs. The bike ran ok before I stripped it down to the frame which is where its at as of now. My question is what would be the advantage of keeping the carbs from the GSXR or would it be best to go back stock? I plan on putting a 4-1 exhaust on so the whole jetting no matter which one I use will need to be redone anyway. I would hate to go back stock if the carbs I currently have would be an upgrade.
