Johnu, do you have a color code for that blue paint you have on the gas tank? Ive not seen a shade of blue like that on a bike before, I really like it

Well I used a Duplicolor rattle can and it is called metalspecks blue. Finished with 2k clear. Here is a link to my tank thread if you are interested http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=63142.15

Check out http://www.speedandsport.com/ for the fenders. I've bought a lot of stuff from this guy.

Project is looking great! I just got my Challenger up and going but its started to turn cold here in Ohio - very jealous of what looks like warm weather in your locale.

P.S. Here's your Silverstone ;) http://www.ebay.com/itm/331696292579?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I wish you hadn't shown me that Silverstone, now I'm going to have to bid on it! Got it saved so I will be watching the auction. Glad to hear you bike is running and yes it is warm here, about 80 today ;D

Re: 1970 Greeves Griffon

The Silverstone sold for $8500, way too much for me. I'm not sure it would be worth that much fully restored.

Re: 1970 Greeves Griffon

I saw another photo of the same bike posted on a Greeves Facebook group and the Seller had it at a show with a for sale sign and a $6,800 price. On the eBay sale, the next closest bidder was at $4300 so I think either the Buyer overpaid or it was a friend of the Seller.

Haha yes a friend bidding is likely! I think $4k is the high end for that bike as it sits.

Thanks Johnu. I just scored a pair of SL175s that are in good original condition.. I really want to steal the paint scheme you did with this bike haha.. As long as you don't mind, that is. ;D

Re: 1970 Greeves Griffon

Dang that's beautiful.

It's going to need a silencer!

Re: 1970 Greeves Griffon

I've been following this one just about from the start, every step has been interesting to see. Great looking cycle man, very pure, awfully clean looking.
John, are you worried about the heat from your expansion chamber effecting the paint on your fuel tank at all?

Re: 1970 Greeves Griffon

Thanks chaps ;D Still plan to race the bike so she won't look like this for long
Luugo I don't think the heat will have any effect on the tank, it was designed this way originally so no worries.
Going to be using leaded race gas only in this one and yes a silencer ;)
