Oil Leak after Top End Rebuild

TJGM

Of Wild Kind...

Rebuilt the top end, new gasket, torqued to spec. Now I have oil leaking from the bottom of my cylinder, but only on the left side. And a decent amount at that.

The only thing I can think of is that I tightened everything up as hard as I could and put the engine away for the winter. Then after a few months I took everything apart and added my gaskets and such ( torqued ). Could I have warped the cylinder ? I seriously doubt I have the power.

Not my first rebuild, but my first with a pretty good oil leak. Any suggestions ?

Thanks in advance,
~T

Thanks Redliner,
I've got everything in there. The only thing I can think of is maybe I didn't torque the bolts slow enough, as if to say I didn't toque in enough stages...Or maybe the bottom end and the cylinder aren't quite flush ? But it didn't leak before, though.
Going to re-torque and see what happens.

Cheers,
~T

Did a re-torque at 5ft/lbs intervals up to the spec and it seems to have cured my problem. Must have been in a hurry first time around...
