78 GS1000 Skunk

Been Around the Block
Picked this up the other day. 78 GS1000, 41,000 miles, new tires, and the PO had an electronic ignition installed. She runs pretty well and seems to be all there. The PO was using it for a drag bike. I'm a big fan of the spoke GS's and the fact that you don't see many of them. Kind of digging the original 70s vibe. I'm starting with the brakes. I've pulled both front and rear and I'll be replacing the crusty lines with some new stainless steel ones. For their age they actually don't look that bad.

Not sure what direction I'm going with this bike, but I'll post it here for now.

Signed up.

Collectors lose their minds over the old skunks. I'm not a purist or a collector, but I can definitely appreciate that bike. I'm sure you know already, but check over the charging system (stator, R/R, wiring, etc).
