Post a pic of your latest purchase

I've been talking about putting togehter Ducati track toy because, I admit it, I'm a Ducati fanboy and I have zero interest in riding a generic Japanese 600 on a racetrack.

Small discplacement bikes like the KTM390 or Yamaha R3 made appearances on the list here and there but a mid '90s 900ss or Monster always rose to the top.

Then I saw something on Craigslist that was hard to ignore. I'm not an Aprilia fan. I give Aprilia owning friends grief for riding an Aprilia. But... Ohlins fork? Ohlins shock? Ohlins steering damper? Oz wheels? Factory hi perf exhaust? For under $4k? PS. I'm also an Ohlins fanboy, and light wheels aren't something to sneer at. I couldn't help myself. 20+ years of exclusive Ducati ownership comes to an end.

Today I handed over the money for this. 2003 Aprilia RSV Mille R. Haven't actually brought it home yet but the deal is done, money was exchanged for a title. Bring on spring and track days!

Friend bought a Mille R a while back. Nice bike. Needs the ECU flashed to really unlock it.

A couple years back, I went to the local Ducati dealer looking for a 1000 G.T. and ended up with a Tuono. Absolutely the most fun I ever had on bikes. Point and shoot, every time I thought I was in trouble, the bike always pulled me through. They may not do any one thing best, but as a package they are the most forgiving and confidence building bike I've ever owned. It was like having a big loyal dog, would just do anything I asked and pulled me out of the most insane situations. LOVED that bike. You're going to have a blast on that beast...

I've had a similar experience on my 2001 Falco, with an Ohlins shock, free flowing exhaust, and a flashed ECU it has been one of the most fun riding bikes I have ever owned, so predictable and precise. Love the Rotax motors. I cant believe you got that Mille for $4k - what a steal.

Got this from my mate that was trying to sell it with no luck.

Did a swap for what he had left to pay me for my SR250.
A quick coat of paint and a new trailer and it is looking much better.

You and your Upside down summer time.
Looking good!

New tailgate to replace the one I bashed in when I forgot the trailer safety chains for the boat.

3 cans of high quality white paint, 2 cans of clear.

New latch handle & trim.

New tail light lenses.

New trailer hitch ball.

New center (lower) black plastic trim for the bumper, and top trim for the tailgate.

One can Rust-O-Leum silver paint for the bumper.

Done.

No pic, but 300' of #2 wire, 100" of #6 for the ground, 100' of 1.5" conduit, a 100 amp breaker, and the bits for a shutoff box.

Next cnc I buy, it's going a hell of a lot closer to my breaker box.

Rebuilt the carb, totally plugged up, and frozen carb slide. Cleaned out the fuel system, adjusted the valves, points, and cam chain. When I went to test the starter, it fired up on the third engine rotation! Sounds like new, only has 6k miles. Bought some new tires, still need one more set, have three CA77 to put together.

If you buy white wall tires from Thailand, the white is painted on! Grrr! That and the tires have little crown to them.

Picked this up last week. Someone tried to turn it into a “bobber” but underneath all the OCC gear is a neat little kawi 250 thumper.

I quickly ditched the lame ass bars for some superbike bars, shaved the seat and made a quick frame hoop out of the grab bar to fix the chopped rear end.

Lights, for the very back of the shop. Got one up to give me some light, so I can get the other seven up, and then put this one in its place and get all the conduit ran. Still need to pull the big sliding door down, wall it up, and put a roll up door in.
