Super Sized Clean Up CBX
« on: May 17, 2012, 23:39:51 »

Was offered a 82 CBX at a price that I just could not pass up.
Bike has 6k miles and is very clean.
Stainless supertrapps ;D
Been sitting for a long time so it needs some love

LOL towing bikes home....

Thought that maybe some how the stars would aline and I would just start and ride it....

Carbs needed to be done.

Not really all that bad of a job

More bad luck....
A few of the valves were not sealing all that well so the motor came off and the head was removed

And the hits keep on coming....
The timing chain tensioner was broken.  what used to be a $45 part from honda is now $475!  bought a $100 USED one!

Well its not all that bad and this will be one hell of a fun bike when its done.

I have broken those bolts 3 times and I think they get week with age because I never over torque.  Looking good so far, Sooo many parts for that motor, everything X6, but soo worth it when completed.

I have the same bike.... just registered it about a month ago. My goal was to have a nice rider... but it turned into a total restoration. After 18 months I ended up with a REALLY nice bike.
