What did you build this week?

My old man and i built this workbench yesterday. Total cost of $70. Most of it is left over timber.

Just finished a project over the weekend that I built with my grandfather. Its a media center for my house, since I couldn't find one I liked anywhere that was affordable. The top, drawers and shelves are rustic cherry.

Inspiring Really... I may need to build something similar for a shop bar with one of those neato Red Bull fridge deals built in, not too big but room for three or four to have a cocktail at.

Wow - that is really fantastic! How did you finish the steel?

Thanks all, it was a fun project and I am quite happy that it turned out the way it did. JP I wire wheeled the whole thing and then put 3 coats of clear on it. I wanted to keep the raw steel look on it, even though everyone who saw it kept telling me to paint it.

Well you did the right thing! The "bare" steel looks great - perfectly compliments the rustic look of the Cherry. Doesn't look clear coated in the pics which is good - not overly glossy which is why I had to ask. Looks like it weighs a fair bit!

Gave my push mower its first oil change ...after 14 years of use....also freshened it up a bit with a new drive belt , tire and paint!

Nice Job Desmo ;D

I built this box to ship my gt250 crank to the rebuild place. I am hoping the ups guys don't see it as a "challenge" though haha. I can almost hear the sorters say "hey I bet you can't destroy that wood box lol"
