What did you build this week?

Old PC took a dump after 5+ years on the mobo. I had recently upgraded the video card (GeForce 960) and have 2 nice SSDs and a mechanical drive that are only about a year old, so I kept those for the new machine.

Intel i5-6600k
Asus H170 mobo
16gb RAM
650watt power supply
NZXT case and Kraken cooler

With the glory that is Amazon prime I managed to get everything reasonably close to the cheapest possible with 2 day free shipping (and Sunday deliver to boot). Took about 2 hours to dissect the old machine and get the new one together. These new cases are pretty sweet for cable-management and cooling, although this one sacrifices a bit of HDD space for it (and no optical drive).

I need to do similar pretty soon. I built mine about 4 years ago and it's age is starting to show.

Fun fun

Replacing this steam boiler that has been in service for over 100 years...coal fired at first and converted to gas at some point.

Old one had eight sections and the new only four.

Thanks Kamn. We were supposed to do this job earlier in the summer but red tape got in the way and are now pressed for time so a crew was brought in to remove the old one...took four guys a half a day. We had all pipes and wiring DQ'd.

Me and the brains behind these swaps wrestled the new sections down into the dungeon though, each section is about 450 pounds. I have a manual lift to raise them up to the top of the base.

Technically, this has been under production for about six weeks, but I'll be bottling it this coming weekend.

Apple wine.

Gotta be some pictures man??

Took a couple weeks but I built a Biesemeyer style fence system for the vintage tablesaw I bought a couple months ago. Cost me about $50 worth of drops at the steel supplier. 3D printed some slider pads. It has set screws to square to the deck.

I've got a sticky back metal measuring tape I'm going to install once I get it set up.
