GS450 - 1st build

I'd figure up I'd post up the bike I've been building over the past few months - First build so nothing crazy

Here's what I started with - Picked up on CL for 500$ not running.



I got the bike running and wanted to get rid of that massive tank s I started cutting





Was hoping that by cutting the side pieces of the triple back bone I would get the tank to fit, but no dice so more cutting








Cut this little bastard up - ended with



And with the new tank

Didn't like the mags so I picked up a set of spoked off a 450tx



And in the mean time I took out the old wiring harness and made my own new barebone one and converted the bike to a key started - eliminated gauges and stock ignition.


Mounted up a rear fender ( its a front fender off a vlx )




And made a seat pan








Made a liscene plate and brake light bracket



Also made a make shift intake since with the pods the bike wouldn't rev over 6k ish due to air turbulence (Have 2 in pipe on order now so I can make better looking ones




And now this is how the bike sits - Probably will make a new exhaust (prob a 2-1), the new intakes, and paint it hopefully this winter.




And took it for a little test run



Have a cnc alum throttle Ill be putting on once I get a 10mm adjuster for it - and ill def have to trim my clutch cable and throttle cable.
