Hello all,

I've just joined your wonderful forum and am excited to meet people. I picked up an 82' cb750 which I will be turning into a brat, cafe bike. I've been ordering parts and am excited to start. I'm using the Gravel & Seaweed build on silo as my inspiration. I also completed a bobber build about a month ago from an 03' vt750dc. As soon as I figure out how to post pics I will.

Welcome friend. Hop skip n a jump from ya here in Marion.

After a ton of grinding and welding burn through on the thin funnels I finished them with manifold cement which I'll sand down before painting.

Took the seat and fender off unhooked all the wiring. Removed the battery box and cut the rear of the frame.

Ordered a seat hoop off of eBay that was supposed to fit. It was about an inch too wide so I cut out a section and welded it back together. Then welded it to the frame and ground it down to make it smooth.

Made a seat pan template out of cardboard from amazon boxes lol. The sheet of aluminum is what I used to make a seat pan. I found out there's a metal shop in plain city. Way cheaper than buying from depot or online, it was like 13 bucks.

Transferred my template to the aluminum. I thought it would be easier to work with than steel but still a pain.

I took the headlight bracket and cut off the turn signals. I cut them shirt enough to fit the clip ons I purchased. I them took a wire wheel to them, sanded, primed and painted.

New tires and more parts. Still waiting on the new chain and smaller gauges. I went with bridgestone spitfires.

Shortened the springs in the forks. May have an issue that I still need to resolve. Both of the bolts holding the dampening rod stripped. So you can kind of see in the second pic where I shaved the handlebar risers off. I then filled the void with weld and ground down.
