CB750 Comstar swap

Judgie

72 CB750 project
Hi

Just picked up a 79 CB750 with Comstars and they need to go. Would love to do it on the cheap and swap to a set of spoked wheels.

Located in Ontario Canada

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I have a 79L 10th Anniversary that came with the Comstars and I'm in the same boat. Just be on the lookout for ebay and craigslist wheels from another CB750 DOHC. So far what I've seen is the 79K came with 19F/18R wire spokes then in 1980 the rear went down to 17'. I found a front wire spoke wheel localy for $30 so just keep searching.

If I remember right someone was making a spoke conversion kit for constant hubs.

Edit: Found a walkthrough. http://motosynthesis.blogspot.com.au/p/products.html?m=1

the other problem you will have is the comstar bikes are dual front disc and the spoke wheels in a dohc are single disc

My 79L came with Comstars and its a single disc front

there are comstar with single discs

but in the dohc years there are no spoke front wheels with dual disc

I think some guys have just gone with the spoked, alloy rim off of the front of an early Gold Wing but then this might not give you the look you want. They came with a beautiful alloy rim and dual discs.
