Ct70 build

I ended up pulling the engine back off last night. I've got to clean up some ground points and my hands were to big to fit in the hole to install the coil. (That's what she said) I did manage to run the wire loom, installed the helmet lock and bolted the triple tree on. All in all a slow progressive night.

Some minor detail pics. I need more time in the shop.

Made some progress last night. Got the rest of the parts back from powder. Put the engine back in and ran some wiring. Did a lot of little things. Slowly getting there though. I have a lot of cleaning to do on the parts that didn't get refinished.

Progress has been very slow. Mostly due to the shop space being absorbed by a 75 GL1000. Damn thing is too big and needs to go.

The only real update is that I now have a completely new harness. Everything from the key to the coil and brake light switch is getting replaced with new. Hopefully this week I can pull the old harness again and loom the new in. I only need minor details at this point to get the bike running.

Loomed in the new harness last night, put the brakes together, and made my clear headlight a little more yellow. I think I like it.

Hoops are ready for assembly. Forks are back on the bike. Bearings arrived. The list of "to do" is getting shorter. I'm not far off. Just need time at this point.

We have a roller. Sort of anyway. I missed the wheel hardware when I replaced everything. Tires go on this week. Forks have to come back off for headlight brackets(if I can find some).

I still need to buy a new seat, exhaust, battery, clutch perch/cable, throttle cable, and decal package.

So very very close dude! Lookin super. Why not restore the original exhaust?

The original exhaust is too small and will not give you your money's worth out of that engine .

Looks great.

Yeah, I need an exhaust a little more performance oriented. I don't want deafening, loud enough for people to hear/see me and flowing enough to not completely rob it of power. I'm having trouble picking a system out. It need to be able to clear the rear pegs so my daughter can ride on it with me and not get a burnt leg. Anyone have any suggestions? Trying to stay under $250 if possible.

Thanks man. I honestly don't know what to expect. Other than flipping over from wheelies in 1st and 2nd haha.

This may fit the performance bill but not sure about the clearance for short passenger legs.

Everything metal can be modified, at least it gives you a good length of big diameter pipe to work with and the carbon fiber can should match pretty nicely.

That's not terrible at all. I need to find a local bike and put my kiddo on and see. I've got a few buddies with them, I just haven't made the plunge yet to try her out.

And it's finally back on the lift. Shop is still a mess and there are skittered parts everywhere from that damn Goldwing.

The fam joined me down at the shop for some mockup work. I love that they are involved with this project.
