Hey guys,
I've been lurking for some time. Lots of inspirational builds on this site, more specifically in the Trackers section, Stout's and Diesel450's builds. I got my 360 from a coworker back in February, here is what it looked like:
At first I was going to tune it up, get it inspected and plated, then start stripping it down and making it the bike I wanted it to be... but it was winter and I got impatient. So I started messing with the carbs, cleaning them, etc. They both could've used a rebuild and one definitely needed a new float. I decided to just get some Mikunis and save myself some trouble.
Then I started taking things off that I decided were not going to be part the bike's new life: seat, fenders, starter, airboxes, turn signals, etc. Swapped the bars, made a tray for the battery under the new seat, chopped the rear end welded on a hoop, standard tracker stuff. Here are some pics in no particular order:
Here it is now (I have other pics that I will upload later):
Got it running on Saturday (half expecting it to start + 3K idle + no mufflers + in my garage = brown stain in my pants). Took it for a ride on Monday and the clutch got stuck engaged, so I had to walk it a few blocks home (past a Harley owner). On Tuesday I fixed it and took it around the neighborhood, its a blast to ride. Hopefully I can get it registered and on the street legally soon. Very pleased with my first motorcycle. A big thanks to this site and the many inspirational builds on it.
