College Kid Cafe Racer Build

This is a project thread - I would encourage all participants to treat it as such.

If you want to engage in general discussions about the merits of one person's education vs the other's, the laws of quantum physics, gay porn or other unrelated topics, feel free to do so in a thread you start.
You erased a lot of good stuff. The only thing reported was a personal attack of a sexual nature. Starting to feel like censorship.

Needless to say, I receive post reports from other members, not just you.

CB400T tank ;)
I can't help but look at it and think how much better these would look if the oil pan didn't hang so much lower than the rest of the engine. Looks funky to me.

Different headers would looks better - 2 into 2, with the pipes running on the side of the sump rather than below it. I'd imagine it would be more functional as well, assuming there is a removeable pan or drain down there.

So... this is kind of an old topic, but still relevant:

And my personal favorite CM400 build:

Now that I think about it, the hole back there is where the old H-pipe sits. Putting 2-2 running along the sump or even having a 2-1 with headers along the sump that merge in that hole would probably help the look.

I totally forgot about that 400 thread.. Its sitting in my bookmarks somewhere.

Lets not forget the most famous CM400 so far by our very own: http://silodrome.com/honda-cm400-custom/

You can't expect the kid to be on the same level as Jr "Magneto" Burrell.... but yeah... cannot forget that one. I think that one earned him a sponsership... Continental tires or something right?

What a piece of shit, that bike.

I, for one, never gave these bikes much thought until I met Junior. I hope this build takes off. I'm definitely interested in some kind of way.

Well that was a bit of a baptism of fire lol Welcome on board :)
Looking forward to seeing where you take this, and what you bring to the table.

Welcome in mate wow lot of hot air been blown out here well just remember its your build n your thread so create something you want and enjoy its not all about flying down the road so everythings a blur its about you riding something you've built a one off and something that's bound to turn heads look forward to ya thread always here for Q&A's ;)

I'm with Yorkie, it's YOUR build, everyone has a preference , I hate Harleys so I don't expect them to like my bikes either. You don't see a lot of those lowered bikes unless their the hardtail guys and they have a springer seat sooo I do like the look so maybe just add some of the taste (which is what you like) and don't make the bike dangerous to ride since your new at street bikes, I too rode dirt for years so it wasn't hard to have an Aprilia Tuono 1000R as my second bike after a DRZ400, your young so don't spend money on bling and be riding on tyres with bald spots and belt showing through, make your rubber part of the cool factor, just bought Pirelli Route 66 tires, not the look I wanted but they last a long time and it's wet here in WA, not the dry I had in Denver.
Enjoy your build, it's a learning experience, just be safe (rubber, brakes, cables etc) before the bling

Its definitely your project to learn and explore. Sorry about the internet know it alls you've experienced.
