Howdy all, thought I would post my project, hopefully to inspire or help others.

This is my first bike, I have been more of a car guy up to this point, but in looking forward to the bike scene.

This bike has been in my family since it was bought brand new in 80, with only 1,000 miles on it and used as a dirt bike for those 1k. I knew nothing about motorcycles prior to this, I just started chopping.

Since the engine only has 1k miles, and I know it has good compression I had no need to rebuild the engine, so that was a plus, the carb however...

Atleast 10 years of basically varnish had set it, I gave it a good couple days soak in gas.

The float bowl had a small corrosion hole in it, I didn't want to leave that open and soak up and not work properly, so I soldered it up.

I soldered more than this btw

27 HP just won't cut it, hoping for atleast 30 with my high power mods.

I took apart the shocks and lowered them internally 2.5" and a 2.5" spacer.

The gas tank was my main concern, while this was on the hands of my father growing up, I think he may have helped it along with some small holes. I took everything to bare metal and used quick steel to cover any holes from the outside, sanded them down and then eventually sealed the gas tank with 2 coats of sp15.

I also want to throw in that the gas tank was rusted to hell on the inside, I took care of most of this with electrolysis (this is the best way, idc what anyone says)

I let it eat for about 24 hours, the only downfall is it eventually ate a pinhole in the top peak of the tank, I latched it up.

. Things are starting to come together

For the seat pan, I actually just cut apart an old elliptical machine and used it as cross members for it.
Also installed a seat hoop

I installed a step up to power the 12v lights I have on

I battled with this thing for 2 days trying to get it to start after I got it back together, I took the carb off and boiled it in lemon juice, I think something was still stuck on the pilot jet line. I also re jetted the carb to a 190 main and I can remember the pilot. I will post. But after a while of push starting this thing, it finally sucked fuel and fired. I have been fine tuning everything the past few days, I will post updates to this thread with further progress. I also drilled out the A/F plug to adjust that. If anyone needs any help on their GN series I can try to help!!!
