1997 BMW F650ST to F650R: Enduro Hellride Conversion

Re: 1997 BMW F650 El Diablo Hellride

Got a Metzeler Karoo 3 for the back tire. It’s chunkier than I thought. Looks like a tractor tire...

Yep. They're curved slightly on an english wheel.

Hey irk!Killer build you got going on...I´ve been thinking about building an english wheel on my own...Did you buy yours?Do you have any recommendations concerning size and such?

Thanks!

I bought mine from Bradj here on DTT. He bought a set of wheels from Harbor Freight, then made the frame himself. It's a bench top unit that you work towards the bench. It's not very big, maybe about 60cm or so deep. I'm pretty limited on size of sheet. I wish it was much, much bigger- at least double the size that it is and I wish I could change the direction I work on it.

I run shinko 805s and love them

I decided to keep the stock bits at the back of the bike. The frame is made for it all and the rear rack is perfectly functional. All I had to do was fill a gap where the XL seat doesn’t go all the way to the rack like the stock seat did...

Looks good.
You could even pad it and upholster it as an extra pillon cushion.

It's back. I don't know what is up with the phone app, but last night it wouldn't let me do my images inline. I prefer them that way, so I tried to finagle it to work. It didn't, so I uploaded the image and edited the post.
