** PICS OF MEMBERS RIDES ** - Official Before & After Thread

Thought I'd throw this one in just for fun. Always wanted an '82 Honda MB5. Traded a paint job for this fine example. Lost my ass on the deal, but I got an MB. Here's a before shot..

And here's the after picture, all restored and slightly modified. Top speed 48..50 with a tail wind..

I rode it for a couple of summers like that, then got a wild hair to put a CR80 engine with a 6 speed in it. The engine swap required all new mounts, foot pegs, rear brake and shifter mods, original CR pipe cut into 5 sections and re-welded to go under the engine instead of over top. CR80 rear shocks. Top speed..56 on a good day. I was hoping to get to the magical 60mph mark. Oh well..it gets to 50 a LOT quicker. ;D

I know you already replaced the engine, but... did you know about this stuff?

One of those kits, a pipe, reeds, and maybe a little portwork would have gotten you to 60mph for sure... although I bet it's damn fun with that 6 speed in there anyway.

Thanks very much for the link. I kinda wish I would have gone that route. The CR engine is cool, but the downside is not having the oil injection that the 50cc engine had, and it's so pipey that you have to ride it like you stole it to keep it in the power band, also the CR engine has no charging circuit. Plus, I spent way more on it in the long run, but as you said, the 6-speed is very cool, and it does make it a fun conversation piece. I made sure that I could return the 50cc engine and all the stock components with no problem. The mounts for the CR engine can be removed at any time.

this is my 72 350f ......still in the works tho.

Oh, ok. It's not really a "before and after" though. The Mille replaced the TLR in my garage. I then sold it a few years ago and bought a touring bike.

Ouch, that looks like it's going to need a bit more heat shield with the new riding position. And a pad for the jewels.

Hopefully it wont be to bad, I will know soon enough, but the padding is actualy not uncomfortable.
