Started with 2 bikes worth 200 bucks total. Took the nighthawk motor (26000 kilos) and regasketed, lapped valves, new valve seals, dynajet kit, 4 into 1 Mac pipe, pods and swapped into 81 cb frame. Frame was debarbed of all unnecessary brackets and sandblasted along with swingarm and wheels ( chrome shot) and painted polyurethane black. Body mods were limited to 4 inch bob job on rear fender and a hacked up and reupholstered seat. Lucas rear light and emgo marker lights along with senior clubman bars round out the major cosmetic changes. The rest is just refurbished for safety and reliability.

Nice work, Cb650's seem to pop up here in Seattle once and a while, but none look that good. I'm assuming the picture w/ the snowblower is from a few months ago? It's been below average cold here for a week or so, but no snow ;D

Well, guess it's my turn ;D

So, can't claim all the glory for this one, but as you can see I think I am making some improvements in the cosmetic department. Still a work in progress though.

The day I bought my '78 CX500

As it looks currently.....work to do on the cockpit (ie: new guages, etc. and removing side covers, adding pod filters, rejet, etc.)

...and here is the beginning of my wife's 250 Rebel 'Bobber' project.....work to commence soon.

BTW......there are some great bikes on h

Here's my 1979 CX500. Total investment in this bike, including purchase price, is $410 so far. Yes, the seat is covered in duct tape. I have the leather to upholster it properly; I just haven't yet had the time.

Nice.
Love the duct tape, hah.
Anything to get on the road!

to CBCAFE...... Yes, the tank is stock. The CX tanks do look quite good, they have the perfect lines for a nice Cafe with the big, bulky-ness of them they look quite menacing plus they have the nice 'knee indents' to break it up a little aesthetically.

to Mambeu..... Man, you got a good bargain there, with a little cosmetic work the CX does come up a treat as a Cafe I think.

I honestly never thought that this model Honda could look so good, I was surprised. ;D

If you can build a cafe seat to match that tank, it's gonna be wild! How is the handling minus the fender brace? What are the plans for the pipes?
