I had the pleasure of meeting him when I was a kid. I'm certain he wouldn't have remembered me at all, but I remember him. My Dad, being a fellow musician, knew him well, and introduced me. He was larger than life, and despite being clamored at by many others, he was polite and cordial.
The world lost a true artist.

Man I just discovered those PFC videos last month. Very cool concept, and the fact they can put so many musicians together from such a distance, and still have it produced so well is awesome. That version of Guantanamera is sweet.There's this too...
If you truly love "music", and not just "songs", you should check out more of the Playin for Change vids.
This hits home for me as my Dad, when he "retired", became a street musician (and Played for Change) for a while.
Not because he needed to, but because he wanted to. He simply loved playing music.
"Playin For Change" records musicians all over the world, singing/playing the same song, in their own/cultural styles.
