Hey guys - I'm new to forum and new to riding. I always wanted a bike and decided to indulge myself on my 30th birthday. I've been tinkering with my 1971 CB175 and my new CB650C for the last 2 years (it's been slow moving). While the aesthetics are working out the performance could use some help. I'll be trolling through all the carb related posted for the next few days in an effort to build enough confidence to get in there and start cleaning and adjusting.
I plan to replace those shocks when I get a chance. Until then, I can adjust the hight a bit... I have some room to play with.
I do agree that the seat should be redone. Here's a bit of back story: When I bought the bike, the seat was just sitting on the frame. I never actually checked to see if the seat fit properly I just popped it on and rode off. Couple months later, I drop some cash reupholstering the existing seat pan. Come to find out, the seat doesn't fit either because:
A - The tank is too long because it's not the original tank... didn't find that out until later. B - The seat is not the original seat for the bike C - Both
Long story short, I wrap some material from the local fabric store around some foam and sheet metal and - BAM! Brat seat.
The picture below is the newly reupholstered CB650 seat. If anyone wants to buy it, let me know. I'll ship it out to you. It's never had an ass on it!
