Air Boxes - 1968 CB 350

Been Around the Block
I have a couple of original air boxes from my 1968 CB 350 that I plan on using in my final build. The filter material and rubber boots are in decent shape (I think), but the rubber boots are loose. The old (what appears to be) rubber cement is all dried up. Should I use something like silicone to seal and secure the boots onto the boxes?

While silicone will work, I used a good grade contact cement, like for molding on cars. It is stronger. and will keep them in place.....

Thanks. I have something similar. I'll give it a try. I assume without sealing them up, tuning the carbs will be a problem.
