Endurance inspired '00 Suzuki SV650 project

Thanks guys

I got some more stuff done today

- fairing mounting "arms" shaped and welded to the main bracket

- got the DZUS locks on there as well

- instrument mount cut, tack welded and test fitted...

Next up is tack welding the instrument bracket to the fairing mount and then take the whole thing off and weld, sand, paint...

I went to Bali on vacation and managed to track down the guy who fabricates the exhausts and pipes for all the custom shops in the area including DEUS, he had a GP style can (which I have been looking for) on the shelf so I snagged it for a good price :)

Here's the shop, quite impressive craftmanship, and they were fast!

Salivating. Can you grab three of the expansion chambers for my gt550? :)

I was seriously considering buying some expansion chambers just to have them on the shelf for a future project :) Most of the exhausts were around 50 bucks...

I mounted one light in front... still on the fence about one or two headlights...

Got a friend who's better with the welder to weld my new pipe to the connector pipe

Got it mounted and couldn't help but firing it up - holy lightning it sounds good! Very deep tone and not too agressive bark... until you twist the throttle

I also got the wiring rerouted so it all sits neatly under the seat... now onto exhaust bracket and hooking up the lights

Looking awesome. I think asymmetrical lights would look good. The one you mounted in the pic above as the large one and then a small (maybe LED) one on the other side

Johnpete, I have actually thought about that too. Now that I have been looking at the single light for a few days I think I will go with two. Gotta see if I have a smaller light kicking around... if not it will just be ordinary dual lights ...

Had a little workshop time so I made the bracket for the new exhaust. I'm pretty excited about this setup :)

Killer project!

My daily is an '06 SV. I have been toying with the idea of selling it this spring. This makes me want to keep it and build something similar.

I decided to try the dual headlight setup now that I already have an extra light kicking around...

Test mount... too far from each other? Too high? It's really hard to judge on an unpainted bike. I'll have to meditate and stare at it for hours :)
