CB750 Tracker First Build

So my lack of progress is SERIOUSLY about to change. Now that I am all moved in to my new place, WITH a garage and a work bench (very excited about) I can get some work started. August 1st my baby makes the move down here and I will be living in my garage virtually. Until then I will have a couple of questions, starting with this one in my picture.

Crankcase breather. The other end will be hooked to your airbox. You can run a filter on there, just keep in mind oil may leak out if the engine is tilted on extreme angles.

Finally my Honda is under the same roof that i am living at. Got a little bit done tonight and stripped here a little bit of basic body components. While I was taking her apart i realized how well intact and nice she was from being from '79. I may be rethinking my overall goal for this project to more a resto with some simple mods.

Yeah, that's all I'd do. Clean it up, recover the seat, good tires, maybe a 4-1 exhaust system, rebuild the fork with a set of Progressive springs, and maybe some cheap name brand shocks with the correct spring rate for the rider. Then just turn some dead dinosaurs into CO2.

Progressive springs are a really good idea. Cant beat that price either. For now im just getting moving with some simple stuff. Started to prep the rear fender for paint. Once I have a few days off next week im gonna strip the tank to bare metal.

Ooohhh Shiny!!!

Looks like you are making some good progress on the bike. I decided the same thing with mine, just do some minor mods and enjoy it while we still have some summer left. You can always go back and do something more in depth later.

Any advice on getting the exhaust off. I understand how to do it but I'm not sure how to physically get to the bolts with the frame down tubes being so close. Any tips guys??

Luckily my buddy had an extension around the house so got the exhaust pulled. Now I need to make some kind of stand so i can remove the forks.

Got the forks removed so far this morning and will be putting those on hold for a bit till some more money comes my way. In the mean time i noticed one of the top of the forks is a bit mashed, is that gonna be a problem?? And anybody know of a good "rebuild with progressive springs" instruction manual?

Worked on stripping and clear coating my tank today. I want it to look bare and not perfect so I just gave it an "unfinished" look to it. And holy crap this Aircraft remover is unlivable!!!!

Where did you get it? I can't read the brand on the picture.

Thanks!

that is just a pic from the web
I think I have craftsman and snap on or mac , all the tool companies have them evin chinagrade

So i went to throw my carbs on the bike for a fitment test and cant get them to stay secure in the boots.........any advice?? Pretty much when i go to tighten the clamps they just fall off the boots

Are they pushed in all the way? Try getting a friend to support them and push the forward while you thighten the clamps. Make sure the clamps are close to the carbs or else it will compress the rubber infront causing them to be pushed out of the boot.
