XS500E engine questions, honing and bore related

Hi guys, im still far from start working on my bike to an injury but in the meanwhile im just reading as much as i can about the xs model, previously i built a cb350 from like 4 different engines, still running like a champ, but my question, on that past build i rebore and put bigger pistons, but for the XS, it only has 17k miles on the engine and conpression is 130L 140R
Are those good numbers? I was thnking of overhauling the top end just for reliability and not having problems in the future having to take the engine apart 2 or 3 times, plus some oil leaks in the head, can i just re-hone, clean the pistons and put new rings? Is even a re-honing necessary? Can i just put new rings and just clean everything?

It sounds like things will work out just fine just if you hone and reuse the pistons and cylinders. You need to lightly hone the cylinders to form a crosshatch pattern, so that the piston rings will have the proper surface to aid the break in process.
