What about a lowering link for the stock xr600 shock?  Looks like this one will bring you down 1.5" from stock, not sure if that's enough,

There may be other options that work as well, like the '80's xr250 or 350, just guessing since that lowering link fits a lot of different xr's.  Upper mounts might be different.

Where do you mount this ? don't get it :). At the top between your frame or... ?
