Hey everyone! I will be doing a weekly update on every sunday until she is done! And I will be asking my various questions as they come....

Here is a new one! I ordered the seals for my shift rod that has been leaking and for the "clutch rod?" seal..... My question; what is this rod(pictured below) I know it's some sort of clutch linkage but I can't find the exact name in the manual. I am probably just being really dimwitted right now, but I have to ask. I am just worried because I removed the the cover and the clutch lever came off fairly easily.... but it's just boggling my mind as to how this works. I pulled on the rod a bit and it seemed to be free and if I pulled any further it would have come out....... forgive my naivety -_-

Thanks in advance for the help :]

That's the clutch actuator rod.  When you pull the clutch lever, it gets pushed in.  This creates space between the clutch plates so that they no longer transmit power from the crankshaft to the transmission shaft.  The friction between the clutch plates is what allow this to happen.  By removing the pressure on them, the friction drops way down and the plates spin rather than hold steady.

Not sure if that description made total sense... maybe I can find a video or something...

And it won't hurt anything to pull it all of the way out. You'll have to to replace that seal anyway. It'll pop right back in.

Sonreir, thanks for that description! It made some sense...... kinda :p It's just hard to understand without actually seeing it with my eyes. As long as it's not hurting anything moving around like it is... I am golden! I'm sure it'll make replacing the seal a lot easier if I just pull it! I'll try using Alpha's technique of using a drywall screw on the shifter seal! Thanks for all the help guys!

So today I go my tax return back! I am in quite the pickle though!

I wanted to dump a good amount of money into this 360! but now I have the opportunity to pick up a 75' "motorcycle"  it's a bike that I have wanted for a long time! The price is right at $700 but I am going to try $600 cash. If he doesn't bite. I'll walk away. I want to be able to spend some money on non bike items :p I will post pictures if I get it! I just don't want any other members here to jump on the deal before me >:p

What would you guys do? I really want to start building a collection..... so I might just go for it! I wanted to buy more part's for my 360 i.e. Seat, Headlight, cables, bars, etc. But I think having two bikes is better in the long run :} I will probably keep the 360 as an ongoing project, get parts when I can and scoop the other bike to commute "IN STYLE  8)"

OPINIONS?!

I have been in the same pickle many a times....Now I have 7 bikes I figure since theyre so cheap during the winter I may as well stock up....Then I end up with many un finished projects and I use the money I should have spent on a build on more bikes then have no money to get stuff done....Then every so often I find incredible deals last year A guy was selling a warehouse full of RD parts everything needed to build up plenty of bikes for $5,000 (the price of one nice RD)....Man I wished I had that money ....But next time I have the money I'll probably wait for a deal like that to happen again instead of buying projects....anyways my advice to you now is get more bikes especially if it's the one you want for $600...there will always be more deals coming your way, and if you have a job you can at least order some parts every month for either one

You have a good point sir! I figured since it's my tax return/ My birthday I should treat myself! I will acquire parts for the 360 over time. As long as I know I have it, I can rest easy! I want a  collection one day.... so why not start now :p
I will keep the cb125 stock for now! It runs and has a title so I am good to go :]

I'll post pics soon! I am going to get it right now! he is firm on $700.... I wont break his balls too much!

Bought it! Runs Great! Has been sitting for 2 years!!!! no rust in the tank, looks original. 6,400 miles. Two minor problems. Front fork is missing a boot, and the front disk brake is janky. Has the weird cable system so it's locked up. Other than that she's alive! oooo... and the battery is in almost out of life. Easy fix.

Plus side
- seat is new. not sure of the make. You can see in the picture.
- everything is in working order! Starts right up.
- Has clear title
- The guy is delivering to my house tomorrow morning.
- New tires
- No rust!

Nice score. You may want to find a front fender. Getting caught in the rain without a front fender kinda sucks.

That seat cover looks homemade by someone who never made a seat cover before. Fair attempt for a beginner.  ;)

Thanks for the applaud, Gentlemen!

It was worth more to me than the money! It's just a delight to ride around!

He did throw me a front fender in the deal! Not original but should work..... I know it's not the smartest to ride without one so I will be putting it on tonight!

There is a small problem with the bike though! I noticed while riding that the front tire is wobbling more than a weeble! I took a closer examination and didn't notice any bent spokes and the rim seems to be true. It's either the tire  :(  or the entire wheel is out of alignment. It does seem to be sitting closer to one side of the fork than the other. Any fixes? I will see what I can do now. I just thought I'd see if anyone had this problem before.

It's a spoked wheel. It probably needs to be trued. Not really hard to do, but takes a little practice to get good at it.

That looks like the original front tire, maybe the back is original, too. I would change those ASAP. If you look at them closely, I'd bet they are all dry and cracked. The real problem with old tires like that is that the rubber has become very hard, and the minute you hit a little rain, you will think you are riding on ice. VERY dangerous.

Alpha, I am going to look at the front wheel and see what needs to be done! If truing is necessary, I will watch some youtube videos :p

Like I was saying before, the tires are brand new! Still have the little rubber hairs sticking out!

The front disc brake is cable and completely frozen!!!!
