Hey everyone I picked up a good deal on a 1979 Honda 400 Hawk.. Well faded, but every piece is there, original, and working good. The motor runs perfect so that part of the equation is ok...

What I'm looking for is some inspirational cafe pics of similar bikes for inspiration and ideas, if anyone cares to post some.

Thanks,

Glen.

I have the same bike. I dropped the 400 for a newer 450 engine ( took it from a 83 450T ). Its a lot of fun but even more work. Heres a few pics. I'm having trans probs right now. (stuck in first, just happened today, not sure why. I wasnt riding it hard)

How I found it

This is one of my favorites. I've seen it in person too.

Hiya, i had the british version which was the cb400t Dream. mine got stuck in 4th and it turned out to be the balancer chain had come off and jammed it. it still ran ok just wouldnt change gear. You can get to it with out stripping the top end as well, with a bit of fiddling. Just take the bottom crank case off with the engine upside down. well thats how i got tit fixed. Not advised by honda i expect... but hey ... it worked.... lol

Cool... I think ill give that a go. May as well strip the engine while I'm at it. My local shop said they wouldnt be able to look at it till Dec. A polite way to tell me to f*ck off.
