Hey Davis, you got a PM man.

Lovin the way you're taking the bike, those handlebars are sweet!

You've got some skill for sure, keep that in mind if the whole law school thing doesn't work out...  ;)

Oh yeah, is that 4-1 a MAC setup? BIG OL' pipe!

Thats the set-up I'm running on my 500. You'd be surprised that it's actually not that loud. Except at full throttle.
Cheers,

good to know, at the very least I'm in for a re-tune with possibly bigger jets, as the carbs have been off the bike for a few months now

Thanks man, its going to be a lot nicer once its done, but I plan on keeping the ''very little chrome, lots of bare metal'' look overall.
I'm inspired by the irreverent, well worn character of bikes like this:

I appreciate it, the bike was in its previous quasi-cafe setup for a long time before i decided one day that i wanted to go extreme with it and bought a welder

Yeah, you'll most likely have to re-jet and mess with your air-fuel mix.

I've never thought shiny motorcycles were anywhere near as cool as a good old worn in lookin' bike... you're goin in the right direction, that's for sure!

Oh yeah, you've got another PM. :P

updated with crappy cell phone pics (better pics forthcoming):

Found a set of NOS short spokes from the 70s on ebay for $25 shipped!  8)  saved myself a ton of trouble and even more money by not having to send my shit off to Buchanan to have custom spokes cut.

Update

here are the new pics with a decent camera after i pained the frame and got all the bits and pieces together once more. I'll let the pics do the talking:

here you can see my 'oil bag' electronics box. Got the ignition key right there and the black and red posts are where i wired it so I can hook the battery up to my trickle charger without having to open up the box.

Yea, its in my bedroom. It's cold outside and my room is pretty big considering its not like I have any furniture to speak of. Besides when a girl walks through the door, boom its right there; I dare her to try to keep her panties on.
