maybe thats just because its a hawk....terrible bike to mod

Bah, Blasphemy!

"Modding" a bike, In my eyes at least, Involves some work. The hard stuff is the fun part! Although the cruiser style frame isn't the easiest to work with, I'll give you that...

Regardless though, The bars that are on it are kinda growing on me. I think I may get a smaller 5" style light and mount the bobbed rear fender/sparto light combo that came with it and just call it done. Sorta brat-ish. I dunno!, I dig it!

Waiting on Kiley to chime in with his latest....

Okay, here goes.  I'm the proud new owner of a 1973 1/2 BMW R60/5 airhead long wheelbase "toaster".  Found it in the living room of a dilapidated house and had to have it.  I am more than stoked.  She needs some work to get her right, but she will be my tourer/commuter.  Think restore with some modern reliability upgrades.  The bike is just gorgeous.  Tore into her tonight to assess the needs, and I believe I found the reason for parking.  The transmission fluid smells a little toasty, so I think the PO burned up the clutch and parked it.  The transmission shifts through all 4 like butter, so it seems good.  There is a broken off plug in the right cylinder, so she will need a re-hone, and possibly a bore up to the next OS piston, but valves are sealing perfectly, and the big end bearings are solid, so the bottom end should be perfect.  Motor is completely free now.  Pushrods are perfect, and rockers have more than enough life left in them.  I have been wanting an airhead to make into a tourer for years.  Some things are meant to happen.

Also came with a pair of vintage Shoei hard bags in perfect shape.

Thanks mike, got the top end torn down last night. Looks like one size up pistons, and a bore is all she really needs. Valve train is minty. Transmission its golden. Gonna pull the motor to refresh the gaskets and seals and powder the frame while she's apart. Then ride the wheels off of her.

Ballistic battery finally arrived!  Damn, it's light.  Look at the size difference between it and the cb750's stocker.  $132, free shipping.  Nice!
