@biker reject: I've been contemplating a similar swap, just worried about loss of ground clearance. How long are those forks? I've got a couple pair of R1 USDs, a pair from a Duc S2, a pair from a TLR1000 and I think there might be a pair from a ZX10 here somewhere. All are similarly stubby. I thought briefly about machining a set of dropped triples but frankly they'd be goofy looking so I skipped it. Thoughts?

The R1 forks are apx 29.25" and the Virago forks are 32.5"  Here is the beginning of a build thread when I chopped my frame.  I have 18" XJ wheels with a rear to front conversion.

A pair of Draggin cammo kevlar lined pants.  Retail for $200-250, bought with buy it now on ebay for $50 and picked up locally!

Also beginning to put a manual thermo fan switch on the CX650 so I can override the temp sensor in the engine and keep it on in traffic.  It also helps for those days when the thermo fan decides it doesn't wnt to come on because the sensor is knackered. :(

So while I'm messing with that, fresh coolant and a new thermostat.

Me and my mate just won an auction for a shipload of stuff..

An SL, a couple of XL's, a CT, and 4 or so more XL and CT frames, and some more wheels, swingarms and exhausts..! (with a grand total for it all - equates to US$120!)

It's all 4 hours away, so road trip next weekend to collect it all.

We already have a couple of SL's in the garage, and an XL, a CT110 & a C50.
Should be good for parts for a while...

Hmmmmmm lovely..........

Will be interested in hearing how you get on with fitting and setting these up. I thought about going down a similar route with my XS (only using one though  ;) ) Lovely carbs, used them on rally cars a few years back, only problems I ever had was with leaky accelerator pump o rings/seals.

An Acewell 4453 :). I'm already pretty much done installing it on my CB750 K2 and I love it :)

-   All the cool gadgets the 2853 (the 'old' Acewell model) has (rev counter (digital), speedo, maximum speed, ODO meter, 2 trip meters, average speed, riding time, total riding time, RPM warning indicator (shift light), clock, fuel meter and all the idiot lights.
- Rev counter (with a needle)
- Oil temperature meter
- Air temperature meter
- 50 laptimers
- Laptimer remote (for on the handlebars)
-  "fuel gauge off mode" (I missed that a little bit on the 2853, since none of my bikes have a fuel sensor)
- adjustable background lighting color
- a way more elaborate display that allows for much more information at once than the 2853 display
- a voltage meter (I am very, very happy with that. Anyone with a Honda will be ;))

I like that a lot.  Might get one for the XS.  Where'd you get yours?
