It was also good because I picked up a 1981 cb 125. I have had burning deep in my loins for a 125. So I am going to do about same as the it, new tank and tail section, I think dream 50s are cool so I will be influenced by that. here she is fresh of my truck sunday eve.

Re: 1981 cb dream 125

wow, i would not have been able to sell that IT!! congrats on the new projects :)

PM me if you're planning on selling that 125 tank!

Re: 1981 cb dream 125

You can fit a slightly modified, early CB750 piston in that and make a 145cc , did quite a few

Re: 1981 cb dream 125

really! I going to try to show some restrait since my desire to build new projects out weighs my wallet and desire to keep bikes after they are finnished. Next time

well here it is stripped, and with the tank on. I am torn,it is so hard looking at this little thing to say I will just toss the tank or sell or what ever, these are cool little bikes. All I have done is cut to lower headlight and gauge bracket by 2.75 inches and painted, To me this looks much better than stock hight with clip ons. removed handle bars and ordered clipons, woodcraft has the largest size selection ever, they even have custom sizes all for $149.

Got a good bit done this weekend. Sripped the bike completely down. Friday night I was working away on it when I stoped and looked up and this is what I saw.

You don't let the grass grow under your feet, do you!?? Its progressing FAST and looks great!!!!

Re: 1981 cb 125

Thanks I try to keep moving so I dont loose interest or come up with stuff to do that really isnt needed. LIke this, I had always planed on cleaning up the back of the tank but now I am debateing extending it by 3 to 4 inches. It would be a ton of work and I am not sure visualy it is ness. we will see.

Re: 1981 cb 125

WOW ... it looks like you have done more in two weeks than I have in two months. How many Red Bulls do you drink on an average day? :D I like how you worked that tail section. Will you fix it to the frame or will you be able to pop it off with the seat? Maybe I worded that question wrong ... Is the tail/seat section gonna be one piece or two? There, that is better I think ...

Re: 1981 cb 125

no red bull, but a little ocd goes along way. The tail is going to be a one piece. I Think I am going to do it similar to the tail on my IT. I like the look of intigrated tail lights. I ordered one that should be getting here today, If it works out then it should be glassed up in no time so I will have a better feel for if it looks ok on the cb, I think it will but you never know.

Re: 1981 cb 125

spent some time yesterday screwing around with the brake light. I am 99.7% sure it will not work. Ended up being a little to long, and I think to 57 chevy. Maybe paint and pin stripe would help, we will see. Also tank extension is out, I am just going to fill it in some.

Re: 1981 cb 125

I dunno Brad, I kinda like it. But of course it's completely up to you.

Is there any way to embed it into the fiberglass a little bit?

Re: 1981 cb 125

yesterday decided to stop being a punk and do the tank extention. Ended up being alot easier than I thought, took less than an hour to get to this point. here is the tank, and after some additional work mocked up, when finished tank will be silver/grey with black stripe like its mocked.

Wait till it gets paint Rich, I bet it will rock. Can't wait to see this done Brad. Glad that won't be long the way you work.
