Here's where I'm at!

Tonight I cleaned up the rear shocks, and finished up the wiring so its all sealed behind the headlight now. The wiring was a headache because all the connections were corroded or didn't fit together correctly. Tomorrow I can finally begin re-assembling the motor.

I have a question: I bought a new 428 - 112 link chain because I am using the CB175 front and rear sprockets for now. It says on the box "tensile strength 4,500 lbs. / for bikes 100cc and smaller." The CB200 chain is a 520 - 102 link which is quite beefy. This all gets me a little worried. I'm having a hard time even finding a 428 chain reccomended for engines above 175ccs. Furthermore, I looked up the engine specs. online for both motors, and I came up with the 175 makes 20HP while the 200 makes 17  ???? Would it be safe to run the 428 chain or should I really upgrade? Does anyone have a good source for CB200 sprockets for a 520 chain?

Have you tried www.sprocketspecialists.com? While they never had the certain sprocket I needed (still bitter about that), they have a chart that I used to cross-reference what would fit.

I couldn't see a problem using 428 chain since the 175's are rated for more hp.

Bike's lookin good so far BTW!

Looks good man. A 428 chain on that small of a bike is probably good. I would shoot for a good one too. as they should be less expensive than a comparable larger chain. the smaller chain will weigh slightly less and that will give you more power. I f you go with a bigger chain it will essentially bog the bike down. keep it up
always a hint of danger. Like a skanky chick at a bar. You know the diseases she has will kill you, but you still want to ride the shit out of her.
