Weird! I've sent two.  ;D
Nothing crazy, was just wondering how much it would take to part you with your Lucas headlight.  If you're cool with posting prices for the world to see, I'm cool with it, otherwise I'll give the PM another try.

Not to hijack your thread...

Just so you know I haven't quit this project, things are moving ahead with a burst of speed now.

My Buchanan stainless spokes arrived yesterday, and I hope to pick them up sometime in the next day or two from Paul (Back Alley Moto).

Ryan is finishing up the machine work on my sprocket carrier, spacers etc. for the CB750 front hub > rear wheel conversion.

I plan on dropping the rims off for powdercoating hopefully this week.  So perhaps in the next week I should have the wheels laced up and tires mounted.

Then it's continuing work on prepping the frame for powder, and final color decisions on the rest of the bike.

let me know before you take stuff to get powder coated.. I have a hardtail that needs to be done... mabe I could throw it in with your batch of stuff at once..

How are you prepping the frame?...Blasting the paint/rust off first to bare metal? or will the powdercoaters do that?

Well, here's the current poop.

I have my Buchanan spokes in hand, and Ryan should be done with the sprocket carrier any minute now ;)

I just made a deal on a carb for the bike, which as often happens to my projects, may become the catalyst for a refocusing of $$$ resources on the bike.

It's a Keihin FCR 41mm carb... which is freakin awesome.  But, the engine really needs to be more than stock to justify such a redonkulous carb.

So instead of powdercoating etc.... I think I may spend my life savings on the engine's internals.

90mm 11:1 Wiseco or other piston (540cc's)
White Bros or Megacycle cam
Titanium valve spring retainers and heavy duty springs
Larger valves maybe
Ported head
Racing clutch plates...

you get the idea ;)  Who knows, I may still end up powdercoating the frame, as it needs something given I've ground all the extra shit off it and am welding on a loop, but I could just spray bomb it.

Might leave the vintage 19" racing rims as they are, in their dirty glory laced with shiny new stainless spokes to my bespoke modified CB750 hubs.

Will be pretty in the best sense of the word.  Bare bones focus on performance.

I find them on eBay for cheaper than what Thumperstuff is asking for...

Tim,
Awhile back you said you had a source for custom-made rear sprockets.
Up 'til now I've been ordering Azusa sprockets and getting them machined to fit whatever hub I'm mounting it on, but maybe a complete custom sprocket from the get-go makes sense...
Anyway, a contact or???
Thanks,

Sorry for the lack of action on this guys.  The rear hub is all machined up (thx to Ryan) but a kitchen reno has me sidelined for a bit.

That and the weather outside doesn't make me wanna even walk from the house to the garage, heated or not.  I'll get myself organized again soon and get back on it, but the wheel lacing is likely going to commence shortly.  Once I gut my kitchen and fill the 12 yard bin sitting on my front yard.
