Fitty buck CL350 Cafe/brat/who knows

foundation982

Been Around the Block
I picked up this 1971 cl350 with a title from my dads buddy for $50 (yeah its dirty, doesn't run dead, battery gummed carbs etc) but I've restored some older hondas before. I've done a 1974 cb360, 1968 305 scrambler, and a cx500 but they all turned out to be too nice when I was done with them to modify (no offense to the people out there who made cafes out of nice bikes) I just didn't have the heart to do it until this thing came along...........

Well it certainly has plenty of hidden potential. Can't wait to see the rust fly, and welcome to the site.

Re: Alright its about time I posted my cafe racer build

After hours of pressure washing, polishing, cleaning this came out and got it running although it ran pretty bad But it was enough to take it around the block!

Thats a really nice 350 after the cleaning man, congratulations.

Foundation... those 360's are one of the prettiest bikes ever and I had one exactly like them.

Congrats to both of you.

I really dig the white frame.

haha Yeah me too, I did it because it's different. I'm a dumbass and didn't clear coat it. I'll probably tear it down again and redo it, but its a pain in the ass to keep clean

Re: Fitty buck CL350 winter break project/continuing project

okay well change of directions tear down take 2 is under way and this is what I am currently doing
Getting the frame sandblasted haven't decided on color yet possibly silver.
CB headers long straight pipes to the rear

I cut the rear cross section to the frame this morning and may be cover a skateboard in leather as the seat, Anyone know if this really contributes to the frames rigidity? it feels solid but may be welding a cross brace
