Titan 500 "her bike"

BicycleBobe

Been Around the Block
Bike all ready came with a killer name no need to make one up. Picked this bike up along with a cb350 last year, plans for it use to change by the minute. So it got put on the back burner and left for bit. In the mean time I had been teaching my girlfriend of a few years now... to ride. Had an old honda with a ringer of a engine in it at my work. wheelie machine and hard as hell to ride, perfect. I could teach her without risking one of my bikes lol. Well for a girl with no balance and clumsy as hell she is a natural she can ride the shit out of that little honda. I guess I really didn't think of the repercussions this would have. Every day she's online looking at the boots she wants the helmet she wants the jacket and so on. Of course the biggest one that orange bike in the garage, actually she now refers to it as her bike and when am I going to finish her bike... Well I guess it's time to at least start on my bike.

Right now I'm open to all suggestions. I like the patina look, but I all so wouldn't mind powdering and polishing everything. I want to do kind of a similar style as my bmw and I can't decide between shinko 705 tires and those replica firestone tires. Here's some more pics of my other two loves, her bike, and her.

Been working on getting the engine broken down and painted. Anyone know if there is a ss bolt kits for this thing?
cylinders and heads are wrinkle black. Thinking the case will be gloss or flat black and the side covers will be polished gloss or flat black I don't know yet.

looks like you have your hands full there. Can't wait to see what you turn it into. Still in love with the Beemer!

Duuuuude... That 500 is a BEAST! Seriously, she better be pretty good on the motobikes. A bigger two stroke can be quite the ride.

Anyhow, use the shinkos. Those oversized Firestones are ok for the bikes they are meant to fit, and no-one has mde those in 60 years. Haha.

On a bike like the 500, theyre just dangerous. Especially to a new rider.

Ya I really don't know how much she will ride it, she just thinks it's her's. We are moving to Austin next November and she want's a scooter to get around on because we'll be living pretty much in city. She wants to go on longer rides with me though usually to Austin from Fort Worth. She takes it all pretty seriously and when it cools of her and my dad are taking a msf class together. However I'll heed your warnings as I've never owned ridden or seen a large two stroke.
I ordered the shinkos last night along with some badass handlebars. I'm thinking on ordering some rearsets from that english guy on here. The stock foot position is really awkward to me the rearsets look far better.

I love these bars, man.

If you are not going to run them, let me know. I would be interested in them.

Ya I haven't decided on the bars I really like the look of these. I had just thrown them on for kicks because they where laying around the garage. They are super narrow though, if I use the bars I ordered I'll work out a deal hell i got those bars for free.

This. I got a T500 a couple of months ago and it was the first time I'd ridden a two stroke. It was only 120cc bigger than my normal ride so I wasn't expecting much. I was wrong. Front wheel started getting pretty light in first and second gear. The powerband is pretty narrow, so it starts out a bit slow, but the power comes on quite quickly.

are you nuts give her that bmw, The first time she leaves you sitting at a stop light in a cloud of blue smoke you will never hear the end of it.

hahahaha. The T500 is a very civil bike if you don't wring it out. I think they're great bikes for beginners. Very easy to ride and relatively light weight + shitty brakes that force a novice to ride conservatively. The paint on the tank looks pretty slick.

JustinL: I have a set of bars like those... there were on my 76 GT500 when I got it. Hit me up if you're interested.

Its funny you say all that cause not having handled a ton of old bikes I thought this thing was built from tank scrap metal. I think the engine probably will see some performance mods, and the brakes may have been crap but will probably be a bit over done when finished... I like how the tank polished up too only problem is that's the good side. Other side has a huge dent from the fork leg being smashed into the tank at some point.
pic of the new brakes, picked all this up and some more for just over one bill.

Absolutely right. For a 70's 2stroke the T500 is a mellow bike and easy to ride.

started getting the front end together hopefully will make a lot of progress in the next month on the bike. I haven't had any chance to work on it since I made the thread.
