How to remove swingarm shock bushings
« on: May 31, 2012, 22:32:45 »
I'm bringing my frame to get powdercoated tomorrow, and just realized my swingarm shock bushings are still in the darn thing. I don't have access to a press to get them out. Any ideas? Any good way to cut them out without damaging the swinger?

Use a hacksaw blade to cut partially though them and then hammer a nail in between the swinger and the cut mark.  It should crack the bushing and make it easy to remove.

By the time I would have gotten to any hardware store, it'd have been closed, and I don't have any hacksaw blades. :\ Ended up getting them out though. Drilled out the center part, then went to town with a hammer and punch. Thanks though!
